Well, what do you think? No, they are not really much good.
Curiosity
My father used saying "You get only what you pay". Not very original I know, but was never a better word to speak. And it certainly applies plans boat. A quick search round the web will highlight a number of sites that offer free boat plans. Some are actually photos of self-construction plans in the magazines of old rigs, sometimes sixty or seventy years ago. OK for the sake of curiosity, but hardly helpful if you really want to build it.
Do not Waste Your Time
Others partial plans, giving you details on some parts of the boat, but missing: other (usually crucial) parts. Other websites do things Usually you walk around a circle of links that you've never done any open source project at all. But you'll probably find a collection of plans to buy (several hundred dollars or more).
My Dad Was Right
From my experience, my father was right. I never found free plans for any value or use on the Internet.
By far the best way to get the shots you want to boat you want is to actually get up for you. What? You cry – I have no idea how to go about designing a boat. Well, nor I had until I came across a remarkable new software that takes you through the process and gets you to the speed in no time. Yes but this kind of thing must be expensive, you probably think. Well, it used to be. Specialized software like this you have made thousands of dollars in the past. But no more – the wonders of programming open-source means that sophisticated programs can be developed with a limited budget and made available to the public at remarkably low prices.
Forget Free Boat Plans
Believe it or not, the software that I use right now to design a 32-foot sailing yacht for my father-in-law has cost me less than fifty dollars. I would not even consider plans for free, using my own software to develop my own ideas of boat design is one of the most pleasant and enjoyable I've ever done.
If you want to experiment with boat design software, then you can’t do better than get yourself a copy of this unique 3d hull design software. At last you can give your imagination free rein and develop your ideas a lot, lot further.
