How do you troubleshoot a speedboat which seems to alternate 1 cylinder 2?
My 25 HP Evinrude seems to be moving in both directions between using one and two cylinders when administered at full throttle, but works very well at speed slow. What could it be? How do I know if this is the problem? and how do I do?
Problem shoot starting with the most changes Simple. Replace spark plugs with the type and range of the heat from your engine model year. QL77JC4 Champion (1990), L77JC4 (1980), J4C (1970) from my list of parts – but the 2000 model year has 4 different plugs specified following the model in question – so does no spark in your engine now are good ones – check carefully. A new set of plugs in an airtight container and basic tools are essential for any two stroke. Spark Plugs can fail for a number of reasons, and sometimes only after several hours of use. Constant indicates problems fouling energy mix, low compression, constant idling among other things. If there is no change with permutation plugs you check the fuel, possible damage to the ignition coils (net crack, etc.) and if the limits are taken very tight. Probably caps only. Good luck.
