How can I fix a rough idle on my engine?
I have an outboard motor 10 hp Honda 4 stroke about eight years. I try to resolve idle speed. It begins when the starter is out and when it is delivered in RPM and then goes for a short period of time, then decreases to barely walk, when I press the accelerator and then wants it back out. I replaced the fuel lines and filters. I had the carb disassembled and cleaned and reinstalled. Then a bad gasket on the carburetor to the manifold cause these symptoms. What should I look for.
Yes a hello faulty seal can cause, but I would check your throttle cable to see if she also takes the link. Make sure the throttle link is in contact with the idle screw. You can also view the calendar. You say you had the carb cleaned, she was performed by a trained engineer, as it may be the sticking float or needle too.
